2019 Meeting

The 2019 NVBF will be held at Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) on the 4th of December 2019; 09 15-17 30. This event brings together researchers from 12 universities from 8 cities across the north of England and will showcase the latest in vascular and related research. The meeting will feature presentations from both internationally renowned scientists and early career researchers.

This free one-day conference will be held in Hallam Hall on City Campus, (Level 6 Owen Building, Sheffield Hallam University, S1 1WB) right opposite the train station. See the campus map for details.


Confirmed keynote speakers include:

Professor Tim Palmer – Professor of Cardiovascular Biology, Hull York Medical School

Dr. Torsten Schenkel – Fluid-Dynamicist, Sheffield Hallam University

Professor Khalid Naseem – Professor of Cardiovascular Biology, Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Medicine

If you are a student member of the Biochemical Society, please consider applying for a Biochemical Society Student Bursary to support your attendance at this meeting.

Abstract Submission

Please submit your abstracts on the “Abstract Submission” tab by 4th October 2019. Abstracts should include the Title, Authors and Affiliations. The main body of the abstract should be structured to include Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions and should be no more than 250 words.

Getting here

Hallam Hall is on our City Centre campus (see campus map). It is a 5 minute walk from Sheffield train station and a 5 minute walk from Sheffield Bus Interchange. While we highly recommend arriving by train or bus, there are several multi-storey car parks within walking distance of the university;
